Court allows yoga students to join lawsuit

March 28, 2013

YES! Yoga for Encinitas Students, an unincorporated association comprised of over 100 students currently enrolled in the Encinitas Union School District and their parents were given party status in the existing lawsuit, Sedlock v Baird.

The case concerns the School District’s yoga program, made possible by a generous donation from the Jois Foundation. Attorney Dave Peck, appearing on behalf of YES!, was pleased with today’s outcome.

“YES! was specifically formed in order to provide a voice for the students who currently benefit from the yoga program,” said Peck. “Now that we’ve been granted leave to intervene, we’ll work with the District to defend Encinitas students’ participation in this world class program.”

Trial is currently set for May 20th.
