Encinitas students seek voice in yoga dispute

March 27, 2013

YES! Yoga for Encinitas Students, an unincorporated association comprised of over 100 students currently enrolled in the Encinitas Union School District and their parents, has filed papers requesting that the court enable it to participate in the existing lawsuit, Sedlock v Baird.

The case concerns the School District’s yoga program, made possible by a generous donation from the Jois Foundation. YES! seeks to intervene in the action in order to provide a voice for the students who currently benefit from the yoga program. YES! attorney Dave Peck will ask the court to grant YES!’s request to join the District Trustees in defending the lawsuit so Encinitas Union School District students are given the opportunity to continue their participation in the world class program.

The hearing will take place tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m., Department C-61 before Hon. Judge John S. Meyer, at:

San Diego Superior Court
220 West Broadway
San Diego, CA 92101

This will be the first hearing in Sedlock v Baird.
